PROJECT UPDATE - FEB 2026

ANIPH meets in Murcia to review achievements and plan next steps

The ANIPH General Assembly confirmed significant progress on bio‑based materials and traceability.

Last week, the third ANIPH General Assembly took place in the beautiful city of Murcia.

Hosted by our project coordinator CETEC, the meeting brought together ANIPH partners to share progress, align on upcoming milestones, and continue working collaboratively toward the project’s objectives.

Among the topics discussed, the partners shared updates on the ongoing progress in developing and optimising the circular production of the PHBV and PHN ranges – chosen for their biodegradability and biocompatibility – used as bio‑based materials to produce single‑use wound dressings and their water‑barrier packaging.

The partners also reported on the implementation of the ICT platform tools and on the mapping of Information & Labelling Systems (ILS), which are essential for supporting traceability across the value chain and reliable information on materials, processes and product sustainability.

At the end of the meeting, a workshop was held by our partner KVC on stakeholder engagement, an open moment of discussion and collaboration with the partners to identify the most relevant contacts for the dissemination and enhancement of project’s results.

The insights shared during our meeting confirm that ANIPH is on the right track to reduce the negative impacts of plastics by producing bio‑based materials and products that combine material innovation, AI, traceability, and sustainability.
