ANIPH Newsletter #3

From research developments to event highlights: discover ANIPH’s latest updates.

A lot has happened since our last update, and we are thrilled to share it all with you. ANIPH recently held its General Assembly in Murcia, where partners reviewed significant progress on bio-based materials, traceability systems, and digital tools, a strong signal that the project is moving forward with momentum.

On the scientific front, a new publication explores how lemon processing waste can be converted into high-quality biopolymers, demonstrating that sustainable feedstocks can compete with conventional standards. At the same time, the project has reached three major milestones: the ANIPH AI Predictive Tool, designed to support the development of safer and biodegradable plastics, the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework, which guides the responsible design of bio-based materials, and a comprehensive mapping of existing information and labelling systems for biobased products has also been published, laying the groundwork for clearer communication along the value chain.

Beyond the lab, ANIPH has been active on the international stage, from the BioCircular Summit 2026 in Madrid to a joint webinar series with MAGICBIOMAT, and outreach activities bringing the project into classrooms across Spain.
