ANIPH logo

Dear reader,

We are glad to introduce ANIPH, an EU-funded healthcare project developing next-generation wound dressings and recyclable water-barrier packaging. Our products are made from bio-based materials that safely biodegrade in the environment, including soil, freshwater, and the ocean.
This solution is especially relevant in humanitarian contexts where waste collection and recycling are challenging.

In addition to these products, ANIPH integrates Artificial Intelligence to predict biodegradation, understand polymer properties, and assess ecotoxicity.
The project also develops an ICT platform composed of three tools: one ensuring full traceability of materials and products along the value chain, another supporting decision-making based on Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles, and a third sharing reliable information with the public to increase understanding and acceptance of these new materials.

As our journey begins, we are excited to share our project video and communication kit with you. We have already started spreading the word about ANIPH, presenting it at the Murcia 2025 Bioeconomy Conference, and we will soon take part in the Murcia Science Week to introduce the project to young audiences.

In the upcoming newsletters, you’ll receive project updates, insights into scientific and technological progress, links to publications and resources, and invitations to webinars, workshops, and stakeholder events.

In the meantime, enjoy the read and help us spread the word by sharing this newsletter with your network!

ANIPH presents itself

In this launch press release, you will discover ANIPH’s mission to develop biodegradable wound dressings and packaging, designed for safety, sustainability, and circular economy. By replacing single-use, fossil-based plastics with bio-based, fully biodegradable materials, these innovations aim to reduce pollution and redefine the role of plastics in disaster and conflict zones.
